Ludhiana rural police arrested a woman for murdering her husband after a fight between the couple on Saturday night. The accused, Gurmeet Kaur of Moti Bagh area of Agwar Gujjran in Jagraon, was identified by the police. The deceased, Prakash Singh Soni, ran a fruit vend near Kamal Chowk and had been married to the accused for eighteen years. The couple had a sixteen-year-old daughter, Parveen Kaur, who is a student in tenth standard.
The police officials said that the accused had been living with her aunt for a month due to the deceased’s alleged habit of using bad language towards his wife and daughter. On Saturday evening, the couple had another fight, after which the accused allegedly strangled her husband to death. On Sunday morning, the deceased’s brother, Sukhwinder Singh, found rope marks on his brother’s neck and informed the police.
