Microsoft officially launched it’s Windows 11 on Thursday. After six long years, Microsoft finally came up with a new operating system. It was in 2015 when Microsoft came up with Windows 10. The update, called the “Next Generation Windows” Here are all the details that you need to know about Microsoft’s new operating system.

Microsoft Launches the All-New Windows 11


Windows 11 has a colossal redesign over its predecessor. It features an all-new boot screen. Besides that, it has a centrally placed Start menu and upgraded widgets. Windows 10 users can access the new updated operating system as a free upgrade later this year. Several elements such as the “Hi Cortana” welcome screen and Live Tiles are also removed from the new Microsoft OS. It is launched with the aim to compete against Mac OS and Chrome OS.

The User Interface is Something You Should Look Upon

Windows 11 features a completely new User Interface. It boots with a new screen and is very pleasing to the eyes. The corners around the menu are rounded and it looks quite similar to the recent Apple iPad OS. Moreover, the Start menu is placed at the center, providing an all-new experience. After a long time, users won’t see the Start menu on the left side.

The central Start menu also brings default icons such as File Explorer to the center. However, this new positioning has bridged the gap between Windows, Mac, and Chrome OS users. The Start menu will not feature any Live Tiles as well. But there are commonly recommended apps at the bottom. Next to the Start menu, is a search bar; that will help users search a particular application. Windows 11 come with several other features.

A few Features and Specifications 

Windows 11 features new sounds and alerts. There are new themes, new wallpapers, dark mode, etc. for better display. Users will also witness an upgraded widgets experience. They can even resize or rearrange them as per their preference. Moreover, users can also split the active screen on the desktop with the new maximize button. They are called “Snap Layouts”. It also features an improved touch keyboard that includes GIFs from Tenor. The new OS also has preloaded virtual keyboards, which the user can place anywhere on the screen. More features such as voice typing ad voice commands are also added. Teams, Microsoft’s group video call facility is also added in the new Windows.
