The first season just concluded and Marvel fans are already looking forward to What If Season 2. However, Marvel Studios never fails to surprise its fans. Its first-ever animated series within the MCU definitely became one of the most loved series of 2021. Although it is very different from what Marvel usually brings on-screen, it intrigued the viewers and established a good fanbase. Each episode introduced the audience to one of their favorite characters from the Marvel Comics characters. Now that the series has wrapped up, fans are looking forward to another season. What If Season 2 Renewed or Canceled?
Some good news for the fans, Marvel Studios had already announced What If Season 2 back in December 2019. Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios’ director, announced back then that they are working on a second season. Moreover, he also said that the upcoming season will comprise 10 episodes. Later on, some sources also revealed that the first season was cut into nine episodes due to the delay in productions. However, after a lot of delays, What If Season 1 premiered on August 11 on Disney+. Initially, season 2 was also supposed to boast 9 episodes but the creators had to push one extra episode in it.
Release Date
Although Marvel Studios has confirmed What If Season 2, we are not really sure about the release dates. The series was announced in 2019 but there is no news regarding it since then. However, Brad Winderbaum said that there were a few concepts left in season 1, which will appear in future seasons. Therefore, fans have a lot to expect from the upcoming seasons of the series. Besides that, A.C. Bradley, the show’s creator, confirmed in October that they are done with the scrip. This means that the productions could begin anytime soon. Considering the situation, we are expecting a new season sometime in 2022.
