The J&K government on October 31 chose to announce all the activities taken under the Jammu and Kashmir State Land (Vesting of Ownership to the Occupants) Act, 2001, otherwise called the Roshni Act. Under which 20 lakh of land was to be moved to existing tenants, as “invalid and void”, and has chosen to recover the ground inside a half year.

“The J&K government has chosen to execute the High Court request, where it pronounced the Jammu and Kashmir State Land (Vesting of Ownership to the Occupants) Act, 2001 as revised now and then as illegal, as opposed to law and unreasonable,” an official representative said.

Roshni Act all about and why
