Aviation giant Emirates is reopening all its flights between India and Dubai from June 23. The country suspended all its flights from India, including transit passengers due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. However, the situation has improved now. And therefore, Dubai is resuming flights between the two nations. Dubai has very few, almost no COVID-19 cases. In order to curb the spread, they decided to ban all flights from India in April this year. Besides India, Emirates is also resuming flights from South Africa and Nigeria from June 23.

Protocols for the Indian Passengers

The United Arab Emirates has set up a few protocols for passengers flying to Dubai. All passengers from India must have a valid residence visa. Moreover, the passengers must have taken both doses of a UAE-approved vaccine. They will also require a negative RT-PCR report within 48 hours of departure. Passengers will have to go through a rapid-antigen test before departure. The UAE government will conduct another PCR test on their arrival. Besides that, institutional quarantine is required until the test reports arrive.

Is there any Protocol for Transit Passengers?

However, the Emirates officials have not released any protocols for transit passengers. It is also not specified whether transit passengers are allowed to travel to a third destination en route to Dubai. Over 30 flights were operating between India and Dubai before they announced the ban. The India-Dubai corridor is one of the busiest corridors in the world. More than 3.3 million Indians reside in Dubai. People can fly between India and Dubai from June 23.
