The United States has released a set of new guidelines; regarding international air travel. All the travel rules; will come into operation from November 8. However, the Biden administration; has already highlighted the importance of COVID-19 vaccinations; every now and then. The newly issued guidelines; are totally vaccine-oriented.
The United States Issues New Travel Guidelines
All foreign nationals are required to get themselves vaccinated; against COVID-19 if they wish to travel to the United States. The Biden administration released; its new set of COVID-19 international air travel guidelines; on Monday.
However, the new rules will come into operation; from November 8. The passengers are strictly asked to get themselves fully vaccinated; prior to their flights to the US. Besides that, there are very limited exceptions. The US government has always highlighted; the importance of vaccinations every now and then. Moreover, the newly issued guidelines; are totally vaccine-oriented.
List of Approved Vaccines
The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); announced the list of authorized vaccines. However, they are also ready to approve vaccines; with an emergency use listing (EUL). You may check the list on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) official website. It includes Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson. AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, and Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines. Besides that, mix and match vaccines; are also permitted.
Travel Guidelines
Besides that, they will have to present a Covid negative certificate; taken 72 hours before their departure. The government has also allowed non-vaccinated travelers in case of emergency. But they need to show authentic reasons; for boarding the flights. Meanwhile, they will have to present a Covid negative certificate; taken a day before boarding the flight. The travelers must travel with full proof of their vaccinations; before flying to the US. However, they can carry the required documents; either in a hard copy or digital form. It should include the traveler’s name, date of birth. Besides that, age, vaccine product; and the dates of receiving both doses.
Guidelines for Children
The United States government; has also issued travel guidelines for children below 18. However, the children are exempted; from the vaccination requirements for foreign nationals. Children belonging to the 2-17 age group; must present a pre-departure COVID-19 test certificate.
If a partially vaccinated child; is traveling with fully vaccinated adults; he will present a test taken three days before the departure. Whereas, if an unvaccinated child; is traveling with unvaccinated adults; he will present test reports taken a day before the departure. Meanwhile, children under 2; are exempted from any such tests.
