Without Walton Goggins, the show would basically be missing its unicorn. Known mostly for his dramatic and antagonistic roles, Goggins surprised fans with his lovable and heartwarming take on a single father. Goggins received widespread acclaim for his performances in crime dramas like Justified and The Shield. He then went on to act in critically acclaimed films such as Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight.

Goggins also has a few comedic roles in his belt. He had a cameo in one of the funniest episodes of Community and starred in the laugh-out-loud HBO comedies Vice Principals and The Righteous Gemstones. Nonetheless, Goggins is immensely talented, and seeing him as a devoted and adorable single father is a delight.

Other than Goggins, the remaining cast is also filled with outstanding comedic chops who display great chemistry with each other.

The show also stars Children’s Hospital famed Rob Corddry who makes fans chuckle every time he is on the screen. He will be back as Forrest.

Corddry’s castmate from HBO’s Ballers, Omar Miller also stars in the show as Ben. He is best known for his performance in 8 Mile as a friend of Eminem’s character.

The show also stars the very underrated Michaela Watkins as Michelle. Watkins is famous for her time as a cast member of Saturday Night Live as well as her work in some amazing yet underrated comedy shows such as Enlightened, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Search Party, etc.

The Unicorn Season 2
Natalie Zea/Source: Deadline

At the end of Season 1, we see Natalia Zea appear as a potential love interest. According to a Deadline report on October 7, the creators announced that she would be back in The Unicorn Season 2. Zea has previously worked with Goggins on the show Justified.

The Unicorn Season 2: Potential Plot

Even though the first episode of Season 2 is already out, we won’t discuss any of it in this section. For Season 1 though, well, SPOILERS!

Season 1 saw Wade trying to explore the dating world. He soon starts hooking up with Caroline (Betsy Brandt) but it turned out that she is seeing someone else. Wade realizes that he isn’t the guy who can hookup and not develop feelings. He also gets jealous of the guy Caroline is in love with. Even though Caroline asks to be friends with him, this story might have come to an end.

In the Season 1 finale, Wade meets another woman while at the graveyard. While visiting his late wife Jill’s grave on her birthday, he meets a woman, Shannon who is trying to catch an injured skunk. He tries to help her out but the skunk sprays on both of them. Back home, he tells his friends how he can’t stop thinking about her.

The creators have announced that Natalia Zea would come back to reprise her role as Shannon in the latest season. This indicates that we would see the blossoming of a new romance. Is this one going to last longer for Wade? We can just wait for The Unicorn Season 2 to find out.

For now, here is a sneak peak of the first episode of Season 2.
