Aaditya Thackerey, State Tourism Minister, tweeted on Thursday, about the state’s mission and vision regarding Tesla. This makes it even clear that the flourishing automobile sector of the state will have a huge jump if Elon Musk decides to use the state as a new manufacturing hub for the country.
Focus on renewable energy and sustainable development
The venture of Tesla in India, according to Maharashtra, is mainly due to renewable energy usage and sustainable development purposes. Thackeray wrote, “I believe that electric mobility is the way ahead. Let’s hope we can help this thought become mainstream soon.”
Estimating the cost of establishing an EV center in India, Avendus Capital released a report in which an estimated cost is around Rs. 50,000 crore. However, India Ratings and Research in its report state that the pandemic may slow the release of electric vehicles in the country, just so soon. Also, the Maharashtra government can face extreme competition from other big states like Bengaluru. But, if the EV system launches in India, this will aid in making a strong electric mobility base in India for the coming decade.
