Pratap Bose, an automobile designer is likely to join Mahindra Group and head its UK facility. Meanwhile, he left Tata Motors as Vice President of Global Design. As per rumors, Bose will lead Mahindra Advance Design Europe (MADE).
Pratap Bose Likely to Join Mahindra
Automobile designer Pratap Bose served Tata Motors for over a decade. He joined them in 2011. In a surprise move, he resigned in April this year. Reportedly, he will join Mahindra at one of its facilities in the UK. It is located in West Midlands, UK. Tata Motors in a press release said that Bose wants to pursue opportunities outside the company. However, this is going to be very challenging for Pratap Bose. The automobile designer will help drive growth in electronic vehicles, future SUVs, etc. Bose’s main task in Mahindra will be to create new future designs for the company.
MADE, a Great Initiative
Mahindra issued a statement regarding MADE. It said that MADE is a strategic enhancement of Mahindra’s global design capabilities. Moreover, it renews its commitment to bring sophisticated and authentic SUVs to its customers. However, MADE will offer innovative capabilities to its designers. They include color, material, and finish (CMF) lab. A mantra to make an automobile business future-ready is to strengthen its design capability. MADE will contribute to all automotive and mobility products and prove resourceful to Mahindra. Bose will serve as an essential component in MADE.
What Mahindra Expects from Pratap Bose?
Pratap Bose will provide his inputs in upcoming Mahindra products. Firstly, Mahindra has already declared that they have no plans to launch any hatchback or sedan. Secondly, they will purely focus on SUVs and MUV of various structures. We can expect a core blue Mahindra SUV added to their legacy. Moreover, some new electric vehicles are expected to launch in the near future. Additionally, Bose will help Mahindra with designing new models for SUVs and other electric vehicles. Certainly, his designs are for Safari, Harrier, Nexon EV are already appreciated. Moreover, the sales of these vehicles have significantly increased in the past few years.
