Netflix has officially greenlit Space Force Season 2. According to the sources, the second season is currently under development. The comedy-drama debuted in 2020 and seemed to gain a very neutral response from the audience. However, the show creators decided to come up with another season. Netflix renewed Space Force Season 2 in November 2020. Although the series received a very neutral response from the audience, the show creators decided to take a chance. They renewed the series for a second season, six months after the first season premiered. Moreover, the series got very mixed reviews from critics. We will see how the second installment does in front of the audience.
Release Date
There isn’t any official release date for Space Force Season 2. Netflix renewed the show in November 2020 but the production was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Besides that, the budget was also an issue for the creators. They decided to shift the production to Vancouver in order to lower the budget. However, the filming was scheduled to begin in summer 2021 but got delayed for obvious reasons. Therefore, we cannot expect the second season to premiere anytime soon before 2022.

About the Series
Space Force is a parody based on the actual military branch fashioned in 2019. Mark (Steve Carell, the creator as well as a star in the show) makes fun of the military until he is hired as the first chief of space operations. However, Mark and his team work on achieving the President’s goal of putting “boots on the moon”. In the President’s eye, Space Force is a complete military organization. In season 1, we saw that the Chinese base ran over the American flag on the moon. After this incident, the President’s administration was enraged and wanted revenge. In order to save his formation, Mark decided not to implement a counterattack. Henceforth, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force was sent to take the action and send the former General to reunite with his family. In the final episode, we saw that Mark has to make a decision that will change the fate of the formation. Moreover, in the second season, we will also come to know the reason behind Mark’s wife in prison.
