Singapore to Expand Travel Advisory for Vaccinated Travelers
In its recent travel advisory, Singapore has decided to reopen quarantine-free travel from these eight countries. The list includes Britain, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and the United States. Fully vaccinated travelers from these countries are allowed to visit the island nation from Tuesday.
Moreover, they won’t even have to quarantine upon their arrival. The island nation had successfully vaccinated 80 percent of its total population against COVID-19 and is all set to live its life with the virus. Now that more than half of the country’s population is vaccinated, the authorities are planning to revive the economy. However, the country imposed some of the toughest Covid restrictions in the world to combat the virus.
Travel Guidelines
Recently, Singapore opened its borders for travelers from Germany and Brunei in September. However, the country is ready to expand the travel advisory from Tuesday as it plans to open its boundaries for eight more countries. Besides that, the lane for South Korea will also reopen on November 15. Under the new policy, fully vaccinated travelers won’t require to quarantine upon their arrival. Besides that, they will also have to present a Covid negative certificate taken 72 hours before their journey.
Learn to Live with the Pandemic
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong addressed the nation regarding the COVID-19 situation in Singapore on October 9. He said that the country will have to learn to live with the virus. However, many countries have already accepted this harsh truth. Lee further announced a few guidelines regarding the pandemic situation in the country. Moreover, he pointed out the Delta variant as an important factor. It is contagious and will continue spreading despite the vaccination.
