Sex Education is a comedy-drama TV series on Netflix created by Laurie Nunn.

The first season of the series was a huge success with over 40 million viewers. The second season was released on 17th January 2020, and now the show has officially renewed for a new season.

The series centers on Otis Milburn, an insecure teenager who is doubtful about sex even though his mother is a sex therapist who is frank about all the aspects of sexuality.

After unwillingly assisting the school bully with his sexual anxiety, Otis sets up a sex advice business with his confident but troubled classmate- Maeve to help their fellow students with sexual problems.

A Quick Recap of Sex Education Season 2 Finale:

Jean was still angry with Otis because of the sex clinic. She tries to talk it out with him but it doesn’t work out, so they start avoiding each other. Later on, when Jean visits the doctor because she wasn’t feeling well, the doctor tells her that she’s pregnant with Jakob’s child.

Meanwhile, Maeve finds out that her mother has started consuming drugs again and calls the social services to report her. Maeve and Viv’s quiz team wins Nationals; Adam tells Eric about how he feels towards him and Eric reciprocates those feelings; the school administrator places Mr. Groff on a leave.

Otis leaves Maeve a voicemail in which he apologizes for everything and confesses that he loves Maeve. But that voicemail is erased by Isaac and Isaac also sends away Otis when he comes to see Maeve.

The Cast of Season 3:

The main characters of the series Otis (Asa Butterfield), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), Jean (Gillian Anderson), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood), Adam (Connor Swindells), Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling), Ola (Patricia Allison), Lily (Tanya Reynolds), and Headmaster Groff (Alistair Petrie) will surely return.

Along with the main cast, some other members like Olivia (Simone Ashley), Ruby (Mimi Keene), Mr. Hendricks (Jim Howick), Jakob (Mikael Persbrandt), and a few more will also be playing a role in it.

 Sex Education Season 3 Release Date:

The show is expected to be released in summer 2021, as the filming has resumed. The show did start filming, but like many others, the filming had to be stopped due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

To prevent huge delay, the filming resumed in September 2020, and all the non-UK cast members were told to be in the country on August 23, to undergo a period of 14 days in quarantine.

The Plot for Season 3:

The trailer of season 3 features Alistair Petrie (principal Groff). We can see the principal walking in the halls of Moordale High, passing by the portraits of the main cast of Sex Education, telling what things might happen to them in the coming future.
