Netflix has finally renewed its most popular crime drama, Ozark season 4. And with season 4, the series will come to an end. Yes, the Byrdes will take their final flight in season 4. Most probably, season 4 will premier in two parts. Each part containing 7 episodes. Since it is the last season, fans have already set the hopes high. Ozark is one of the most-watched Netflix shows. It has immense popularity and a fan following. The show is currently in its filming phase. The actors and other crew are giving production updates via several pictures. Here is everything we know so far.
Official Release Date for Ozark Season 4
Netflix renewed Ozark season 4 in June 2020. Unfortunately, the series wraps up with the fourth season. So far, Netflix hasn’t announced an official release date yet. The final season will release in two different parts. Each part will have 7 episodes. We can expect the first part in 2021’s last quarter. And the second part in 2022’s first quarter. However, nothing is confirmed yet. Fans have to wait a little longer for an official announcement.
Filming Details
The filming for Ozark season 4 began in November 2020. It was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jason Bateman, who directed the first two episodes of all the three seasons; may not direct this time. It was just not safe during the pandemic period. The crew members followed all the protocols, guidelines, and rules while filming. It just didn’t make sense for an actor to direct the episodes. Because if he got sick, they all had to go home for weeks.
Do We Have a Trailer Yet?
No, we don’t have an official trailer for Ozark season 4 so far. Usually, trailers drop a month before the premiere. So, we can expect the trailer once we have an official release date. Well, you will also find several videos on YouTube, claiming themselves as trailers. But they are all fan-made and not the official ones. The season is still in production. Henceforth, it is quite early to expect a trailer. Netflix did release a short teaser when it announced season 4’s renewal. There is a slight possibility that Netflix might release the trailer during the Emmys 2021.
Number of Episodes in Ozark Season 4
The 14-episode long Ozark season 4 will air in two parts. Each part will have 7 episodes. That’s more than the previous season. Ozark season 3 had 10 episodes. Bateman hinted that season 4 is a bang. It will hype up the problem for the Byrdes.

Expected Plot For Ozark Season 4
Ozark season 4 will pick up right from where season 3 left. In season 3, the Byrdes witness Helen Pierce’s death. Omar Navarro shoots the cartel attorney. Season 4 will tie up all the loose threads, as it is the final season. The Byrdes will have other problems besides Navarro. Ruth has turned against them. Showrunner Chris Mundy also hinted at a few things regarding season 4. It will deal with what Ruth exactly wants. Does she want to create something of her own or she wants something else? We will see the Byrde family laundering millions in drug money. Season 4 will answer all season 3’s unanswered questions.
Season 3 Recap
Ben, Wendy’s brother was introduced in Ozark season 3. He added fuel to the Byrde family’s conflict. Besides that, we also saw him romancing Ruth. Wendy proved her loyalty and handed Ben to the cartel. Although, this saved her family. But Ruth cut ties with the Byrdes after this incident. Marty and Wendy finally decide to work together. The couple set off to Mexico to meet Navarro. However, on their arrival, Navarro shoots Helen. Navarro states “this is just the beginning”. Season 3 left the audience at a cliffhanger.
