On Tuesday, during the state assembly meeting, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took a sharp tone. He attacked Tejashwi Yadav, who is the leader of the opposition party. He had interrupted the speech of the Janata Dal-United leader in the assembly house.
Mr. NItish Kumar said, “Jab main waha tha tab ap godi me the. Ham godi me nahi uthayein hain?…(When I was there, you were a child. Haven’t you played in my lap)”. This is after Tejashwi Yadav made comments about his time as a Union Minister earlier. He was referring to the times of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
Nitish Kumar And His Statements:
Mr. Yadav was the deputy of Nitish Kumar. However, this tenure soon got terminated after the collapse of the JDU-Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance government in 2017.
On the third day of the budget session, Mr. Nitish Kumar responded to the Governor’s proposal of gratitude. The JDU leader was interrupted many times by Mr. Yadav. He was talking about the accomplishments of his administration during his 15-year state rule.
“Later say whatever you like… but listen to what I am saying right now… you will be benefitted from it,” Mr. Kumar told Mr. Yadav in a sharp and harsh tone.
Just after the incident, during his speech, Mr. Yadav slammed the BJP-JDU government. He pointed out and raised the issues regarding the increase in the crime rate of the state.
Mr. Yadav also referred to Mr. Kumar as the BJP’s ‘Stepney-stooge’. According to the response of Mr. Kumar, it looks like he was quite hurt by the phrase.
Last year, Mr. Kumar conceded to the BJP the role of a big brother in the coalition, as his party was only able to win 43 seats. The BJP won 74, only one less than the party of Mr. Yadav. With the assistance of the BJP, Mr. Kumar later formed the government.
Nitish Kumar is an Indian politician who has served since 2015 as the 22nd Chief Minister of Bihar, a state in India. He also has served on five multiple occasions in that capacity previously. He has also worked in the Government of India of the Union as a Minister.
