It might sound disappointing, but Netflix has canceled Monarca season 3. The Mexican drama will not return for a third installment. It has run its course and it’s over now.
Netflix Cancels Monarca Season 3
Unfortunately, Monarca season 3 isn’t renewed. The Mexican drama debuted in September 2019 and was well appreciated. It returned back with its second installment in January 2021. The second season dropped alongside Cobra Kai on January 1st. It managed to stay in Mexican Top 10 charts for 27 straight days. However, it was also appreciated in the Dominican Republic and Panama. Besides that, the show also did well in Venezuela and Honduras. The show also appeared in the Top 10 charts in the US too.
Recap of Season 1 and Season 2
But now, the show is finished and Monarca season 3 won’t happen. Although, season 2 ended with a big cliffhanger. Monarca features three siblings struggling to inherit the empire. They are Joaquin Carranza, Ana Marie, and Andres Carranza. In season 1, their father was murdered. He was attempting to go straight in corruption-ridden Mexico. Ana Marie found his body.
Her white shirt got covered in blood. Ana is desperate to know who killed her father. Their mother, Cecilia pumps lead into Uncle Augustin. Sofia, Augustin’s daughter wants to know who killed her father. Cecilia goes mad in season 1. Sofia turns greedy and wants the Carranza empire now. She owns 10 percent shares in Monarca. And there the fight begins. Watch the season 2 trailer. Apparently, there was a lot for Monarca season 3.
Monarca Cast Bid Adieu
In an Instagram post, Osvaldo Benavides said that goodbye to Andres Carranza. Osvaldo played Andres’s character. He mentioned that it was a good project. Further, he thanked everyone for their love and support. Benavides stated that the show was his pride. Hence, Goodbye. On the other hand, Irene Azuela also bid adieu. Irene played Ana Marie in the show. She mentioned that some stories end even if they are not over. Further, she said that she is happy to be a part of such a show. The set was full of laughter, humor, and respect. Significantly, she said goodbye to the show.
