Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift 2021 Launched In India, Starting With ₹ 5.73 Lakh Price

The 2021 Swift facelift was introduced in India by Maruti Suzuki with starting prices of 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With a range of upgrades, both cosmetic and on the safety and function front, the iconic hatchback gets a semi update. Visual updates provide a new grille with a crunchy chrome accent in the middle that gets silver-finish on the grille mesh.

With a contrasting roof, the design also gets new dual-tone exterior designs. More of a nip and tuck to offer a new look while keeping much of the features from the earlier version are the exterior adjustments.

Speaking on the launch of the new Swift, Executive Director – Marketing & Sales, Shashank Srivastava said, “Since its launch in 2005, Swift has revolutionized the premium. Swift with its sporty performance, upright stance, and unmistakable road presence emphasizes individuality that stands out from the crowd. This ‘coming of the age’ car was designed keeping in mind the evolved preferences of the modern-day customer. Over the years, it has earned the warmth of nearly 2.4 million customers”.

With a new and highly efficient K-series engine, best-in-class fuel efficiency, a sporty dual-tone exterior,  and improved safety features, the new Swift bring this reputation a level higher. “We thank our customers for their unwavering support throughout and are confident that the new Swift will also win the appreciation of our customers”. He added.

With the older 1.2-liter K-Series engine replaced with the new-generation 1.2-liter Dual Jet VVT petrol engine that is also used on the Baleno hatchback, there is also a new powertrain. Enhanced output power also arrives with the latest engine, from 82 bhp to 88 bhp at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4200 rpm.

For improved performance, the new engine gets Idle Start Stop (ISS) technology, although it also gets Dual VVT and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) systems that help achieve lower emissions. As a result, the new Swift has become more fuel-efficient and claims 23.20 kmpl for the manual and 23.76 kmpl for the AMT version approved by ARAI.

The modern Swift facelift arrives with key synchronized auto foldable ORVMs, cruise control, and an updated twin-pod instrument system with a 4.2-inch TFT-colored MID panel. With SmartPlay Studio, there’s a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment device that provides Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with improved functionality.
