On Friday, Tata Motors Limited said that effective 1 July 2021, it had named Marc Llistosella as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Via his remarks, he expressed his appreciation and happiness. “I am delighted to welcome Marc to Tata Motors,” said Tata Motors Limited Chairman, N Chandrasekaran.
“Marc is an experienced automotive business leader with deep knowledge and expertise in Commercial Vehicles over his illustrious career and has extensive operational experience in India,” Chandrasekaran further added.
Most recently, Llistosella was the chairman and chief executive officer of Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, where he worked to boost the company’s profitability and sales potential.
The career of Marc Llistosella:
Earlier, Marc Llistosella was Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd’s managing director and chief executive officer. He developed a greenfield organization and business unit during his term to create, manufacture and sell trucks. In 2012, Llistosella introduced BharatBenz. In such a short period of time at Daimler, he made it a popular organization.
Llisotsella has vast experience in distribution, marketing, and network management as well as strategic thinking, leading a company, and work. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Cologne and is an established executive in the automotive industry.
“Marc will bring this experience to take the Tata Motors Indian business to even greater heights,” Tata Motors chairman added.
Commenting on his appointment, Llistosella further said, “I am delighted to become a part of the unique Tata family. Having been bonded to India for so many years, a new exciting chapter is now opened. We would jointly awaken the potential of Tata Motors”.
As a chief executive officer and managing director, Marc Llisotsella is an accomplished automotive executive with a long track record in greenfield ventures, turnaround management, and leading organizations.
In 2016, as its managing director and chief executive of local operations, Tata Motors roped in Butschek, a former Airbus chief operating officer. “Guenter Butschek has informed his desire to relocate to Germany at the end of the contract for personal reasons. He has kindly accepted the request of the Board of Tata Motors to continue as the MD & CEO till 30th June 2021,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
