Mamata Banerjee accuses the Election Commission and BJP of playing dirty in Bengal Elections. She contested and lost the Nandigram seat. Although, Mamata’s home seat is Bhabanipur. However, she decided to contest the elections from Nandigram as she had led the anti-farmland movement there.
Mamata Banerjee Accuses EC and BJP
West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee accused BJP and Election Commission of playing dirty politics in Bengal Election. She further added that they made the situation extremely difficult for TMC. It is all because of the brothers, sisters, mothers, minorities, and the youth of Bengal who has helped her win. She said that the Election Commission behave very rudely with her and her party delegates. They were fighting with her as a BJP Spokesperson. Additionally, she would go to court against this issue. Mamata Banerjee has described her TMC’s victory as evidence of its fight to protect communal harmony. She will move to the Supreme Court against Election Commission. Mamata further added that two or three people cannot decide the fate of the country.
Victory Greetings to Mamata Banerjee
Mamata received tons of wishes and greetings from leaders of various parties after her victory. She thanked all of them cordially. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Mamata Banerjee via a tweet. Mamata suspects counting misconduct and will move to court, if necessary. However, she denied making any comments on the Left and Congress. She stated that it is their internal matter and she has no say in it.
Mamata Banerjee on Lockdown
The oath-taking ceremony is not finalized yet. It may be announced a week or two later. The Bengal CM said that TMC will celebrate Rabindra Jayanti on May 9. She is grateful to all those people who helped her win. When asked about the lockdown, she did not say much about it. She said that she will come to any conclusion after a discussion with her officers. West Bengal is currently witnessing a huge surge in COVID-19 cases.

Mamata Banerjee had a target of winning 221 out of 294 seats. She thanked the people for voting for her and protecting the communal harmony. Mamata mentioned that it is because of the people only, that they have won from such a huge margin. She considered her victory as a “landslide victory”. The BJP claimed that they will secure West Bengal with 200 seats. But unfortunately, nothing as such happened. Instead, Mamata has retained her own empire.
