With the recent success of the first movie, fans have been eagerly awaiting news for “Enola Holmes 2”. And there is a huge possibility of a second movie in making.
The mystery movie released on Netflix on 23rd September 2020. The movie is based on the first book of a series of the same name by Nancy Springer. Harry Bradbeer is the director of the movie and Jack Thorne has done the screenplay. The film was initially to be released in theatre by Warner Bros. Pictures. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the distribution rights for the movie were sold to Netflix. The movie received lots of praise from audiences and critics alike.
Release Date of “Enola Holmes 2”
There has been no official announcement for a second movie yet. But according to director Harry Bradbeer, a second movie is already in discussion. The movie also sets itself up perfectly for a sequel.
Producer Millie Bobby Brown who also plays the protagonist in the movie says that there is more of the story to be told. As the character is not grown up yet, the story isn’t over and there is no conclusion. Brwon further added that Enola ill forever be someone who is always evolving and there is more to her that is yet to be shown on screen.
The Possible Plot for the Sequel Movie
The movie is based on the first book of a series by the same name. The story follows the teenage sister, Enola Holmes of the already famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. Enola goes to London in search of her mother who has mysteriously disappeared.
The final moments of the first movie see a Holmes family reunion. It also shows Enola setting up what she is planning to do after the events of the movie.
Enola resumes her search for her mother after saving the lord. She finally receives a coded reply in a newspaper, allegedly from her mother. She tells Enola to meet her at the Royal Academy that same night.
Enola immediately knows it is just a scam from his brothers Sherlock and Mycroft. She hides as a newspaper seller to confirm her suspicions. Back in her room, Enola has a surprise reunion with her mother who apologizes for leaving her. But she knew it was not safe to tell Enola where she was going as she is involved in the Suffragist movement.
She tells Enola that she will always be there if she needs her, all Enola needs to do is leave her a coded message in the newspaper.
The movie ended with a monologue to the camera, where Enola talks about how she needs to find her own path like the rest of her family.
There are five other books in Nancy Springer’s series which see Enola involve and tackle a range of mysteries while avoiding the attention of her older brothers. The next movie will be based on all her adventures.
