Several doctors and frontline workers in Indonesia are dying strangely. They all were administered with the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine, Sinovac. According to reports, all these workers and doctors had received both the vaccine doses. The Indonesian Medical Association listed at least 20 doctors and health care workers; who died under such circumstances.
Doctors and Health Workers Lose their Lives After Administering the Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine
At least 20 doctors and health care workers in Indonesia; have died after taking the China-based Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine. Moreover, they had administered both the vaccine doses and; still got infected. Besides that, they died after taking the vaccine shots. The Indonesian Medical Association; is looking into the vaccine status of other doctors; who died in the last 5 months. Dr. Suhendro Sastrowiwoho, an Indonesian doctor based in Java died after taking the Sinovac vaccine. He tested positive days after receiving the vaccine shots and lost his life. Moreover, he had received both doses. Besides Dr. Suhendro, two more nurses and health care workers also died in Java after getting vaccinated.
What did the Experts Say?
Experts are predicting that these doctors were affected with the new Delta variant. Although, it is not confirmed yet. The Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine was a success in Indonesia. Many people have administered the vaccines and are doing perfectly fine. But the vaccine’s efficacy on the new Delta variant is not clarified. Henceforth, experts are suggesting that the doctors and workers; who lost their lives got affected with the Delta variant. More study and data are required to claim this statement. The Indonesian Association is also looking at the death factors of doctors; who died in the last 5 months.
Several Other Countries Face the Same Issue as Indonesia
So far, 358 fully vaccinated health workers have tested positive; during a two-week period in Kudus, Java, Indonesia. Only 5 percent of the total Indonesian population is vaccinated. Mostly, people are getting administered with Sinovac; which is now believed less effective against COVID-19. Besides Indonesia, Mongolia, Seychelles, and Bahrain; have also administered the Sinovac vaccine. After which, they have seen a surge in recent cases. The Chinese vaccine is currently under immense suspicion; is considered less effective against the virus.
