You can dream big, but a vision to your dream is only attained when you work hard for it. Anyone can dream about anything, but not everyone has the audacity to make their dreams come true. Dreams only turn into reality when you work hard for them with utmost determination. Menka Mishra, a name that is now successfully established in the music industry was once a dreamer too. She dreamt of being a playback singer since she was a child. She sued to sing at school events, family functions as her hobby until one day she was advised by her music teacher to learn professional music. Menka has a voice that can be compared to a nightingale. However, her dream of becoming a singer was not accomplished in one day. She worked hard for it, went through several ups and downs, just to be at the place where she is today. Menka Mishra has a Ph.D. in music from the University of Allahabad. A point to note here is that she had done her Ph.D. after her marriage and that too after having children. She is a perfect example of what we call today women empowerment.
Menka Mishra is a big name in the devotional musical world. She has worked with a lot of renowned music companies, especially T-Series. Most of her famous albums fall under the T-Series banner. Jai Ganesh, Mohan Murli Bana Lena, bansuri pe kanha, He Mahaveer Hanumat Namh, Prem Deewani Meera, Ahsas, Sai Chalisa, Maiya Ka Darbar Saja hai, Shubhkarini Vaishno Devi, Laga Kumbh ka Mela, etc. are a few of her most loved music albums. Most of these are by T-series. She also runs a program on a YouTube channel called “Humari Vyatha” in which she discusses sensitive topics of society such as rape, acid attack, child labor, etc. Menka has also watermarked her name on companies like Akashwani and Doordarshan. Wave, Kv, Dc, Vijay Lakshmi are other record labels with whom Menka Mishra had showcased her vocal talents.
There are a number of titles and awards that Menka Mishra has adhered to her name. She has been awarded a certificate of appreciation for the musical concerts to support the cause of “Hunger-Free India” with German and Spanish Artists. The concert was organized by Dharma Bharti Mission in order to merge cultural activity too via fusion by “kalashrya Foundation” in Mumbai. Menka is not only a singer but also an activist. She has never ignored the problems and stigmas of our society and always contributed her part for betterment. Menka also showcased her musical talent at Rashtriya Khadi and Gramodyog Pradarsani in Magh Mela 2017 for which she was awarded an appreciation certificate as well. She has also sung Bollywood songs opposite Shaan, Udit Narayan, Jaspinder Narula, and many more. These awards and certificates were just to name a few out of the whole lot that Menka Mishra has earned so far.
Menka Mishra is working on a couple of projects for a while now. One of them is “Pyar Karun Tujhse”. It is a romantic Ghazal that will very soon be released for the audience. Menka has a melodious voice that is immensely soothing to one’s ear. As mentioned earlier, her voice could be compared to that of a nightingale. “Saawre Piya” is another project by Menka Mishra that will be out soon. She herself has sung, written, and composed that song from “Thumri Ang” with a modern style of music. A Sufi composition of medieval poet Malukdas Ji will also be heard soon by the audience. It is composed with a very different and new style of music, named “Almast Fakira”.
