Goblin Slayer Season 2: Plot, Cast, Release Date and Everything You Need To Know

It’s been two years since we last saw the Goblin Slayer slay through hordes of goblins. Fans are eagerly awaiting Goblin Slayer Season 2 to come out soon. Goblin Slayer first came out in October 2018 and wrapped up its first season in December that same year.

Goblin Slayer is based on Kumo Kagyu’s Japanese dark fantasy light novel. It has since been adapted into two manga series, a prequel manga, audio drama CDs, the anime we’re talking about, and a movie that came out earlier this year.

When the show first aired on October 7, 2018, it garnered controversy for their visceral sexual violence. To add to the fuel, Crunchyroll put a TV-PG rating on the episode. The episode shocked a lot of casual and clueless viewers. Crunchyroll has since put an appropriate TV-MA rating along with a disclaimer at the beginning of every episode.

Fans have argued that this visceral opening is an intro to what the show is going to be about and will filter out the casual anime fans from the ones who have already watched more violent and gruesome anime in the past.

Goblin Slayer Season 2: Plot Summary

Goblin Slayer is set in a magical realm where adventurers complete tasks and contracts to earn their livings. The jobs they have to do are frequently dangerous and may go south pretty soon. A novice adventurer known as the Priestess soon has a horrible experience while working on a contract. A horde of goblins attacks her group and massacres everyone. However, an experienced adventurer comes right on time to save her. This adventurer is the Goblin Slayer and he has only one concern in his life, to hunt goblins.

The first season of Goblin Slayer had twelve episodes in it and covered only part of the source material. The original light novels ran for 12 volumes so there is a lot to discover in this magical realm.

At the end of the first season finale, we see a title card that read “Goblin Slayer Will Return!” So we can assume that Goblin Slayer Season 2 is on the cards.

It’s safe to assume that Season 2 will also follow the manga and we will see the Goblin Slayer go through plenty more adventures while hunting goblins at the same time. Fans are also expecting to see the Noble Fencer and the Goblin Paladins in the upcoming episodes.
