Set in an alternate world where the X-men have vanished, The Gifted Season 3 is not happening. Based on Marvel Comics’ X-Men franchise, the show debuted in October 2017 and concluded in 2019. However, the show is not returning for a third season. Although it is quite disappointing for some fans, it is what it is.

Despite a solid fanbase, The Gifted Season 3 is not happening. The show was quite popular among the fans and had received popular reviews from critics. Since its debut in 2017, the show has managed to garner a massive viewership from the audience. Besides that, it is based on Marvel Comics. And we all are well aware of the humongous fanbase that Marvel shares. Despite all of this, the creators of the show have decided to cancel it.
About the Series
The Gifted revolved around two parents who give birth to mutant kids. However, after knowing this fact, they try to save their kids from those authorities who want to snatch them away. These authorities capture the mutant kids and keep them in an underground world where they have to battle to stay alive. Reed and Caitlin (the parents) come across a resistance group called the Mutant Underground that offers refuge to the family from the authorities. Although the show’s plot is beyond amazing and unique, the creators have decided to cancel The Gifted Season 4.
Why did Fox Cancel The Gifted Season 3?
The Gifted first premiered on Fox in 2017 and became quite popular among the audience. Soon after the first season’s premiere, the network renewed the series for another season. However, the second season did not perform well and received very low ratings. The second season of the series acquired a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating in Live+.
On the other hand, fans claim that the ratings of the second fell as Fox no longer owns the show. Disney took over Fox and this is the reason why the show’s rating fell from a great height. However, The Gifted Season 3 is officially canceled.
