Bharat Biotech will continue the steady supply of Covaxin in India. The company on Tuesday said that it has already supplied vaccines to 18 states since May 1. All adults in India are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination from May 1.
Covaxin Supplied to 18 States Since May 1
Covaxin is another COVID-19 vaccine available in India. Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech manufactures its jab. The company tweeted that it has supplied vaccines to 18 states since May 1. Unwavering their efforts, they will continue the steady supply. These states include Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Gujrat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, etc. Besides these states, the company is now providing vaccines to other states as well. Jharkhand, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Odisha are some of them. Maharashtra and Jammu & Kashmir are lined up too.
The other States to Receive the Jab Soon
Bharat Biotech is providing Covaxin to states directly from May 1. However, the company did not specify the number of doses it has supplied so far. Based on the allocations received by the Central Government, the company is doing so. Earlier the price for Covaxin was Rs. 600. Later on, it was cut to Rs. 400 for the states. However, it sold Covaxin to Central Government at Rs. 150 per dose. The company’s joint managing director, Suchitra Ella has assured that other states in line will also receive the jab soon.
Vaccination in India
India opened its vaccination to all above 18 years from May 1. Availability may vary from state to state. Those who have not got themselves vaccinated yet, are urged to get it soon. If you have not even registered yourself, register soon. You can do the registration via Co-WIN or Arogya Setu App. As soon as the vaccines are available in your state, you can book your slot. Encourage others for vaccination as well. Many COVID-19 vaccines are available in India. Covaxin and Covisheild are the most common ones.
