Demon Slayer season 2 is finally renewed for its fans. Tanjirou, Nezuko, and friends are back for a new season. The record-breaking anime is all set to release in 2021. The blockbuster anime’s season 1 made its debut in 2019. It gained massive popularity worldwide. The series was such a hit that it returned in 2020 with a feature film. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train.

Expected Release Date for Demon Slayer Season 2

The blockbuster series was adapted from Manga of the same name. Its 26-episode season 1 was released in 2019. And now after, 2 long years, Demon Slayer season 2 is all set to release. We don’t have a specific date regarding its release yet. Although, it is rumored that it will air in October 2021. However, nothing is officially confirmed. This news came alongside several visuals and a new teaser video. But it is confirmed that season 2 is finally returning. We hope the anime series to return as soon as possible.

Do we Have a Trailer or Teaser Yet?

We have the official teaser for Demon Slayer season 2. It released on February 14 this year in an online event. Kimetsu-Sai, the anime second-anniversary festival made the revelations. The event aired on Japanese streaming service Abema TV. However, the official teaser is geo-blocked. But the fans are really smart. They have recreated it with English subtitles and uploaded it on YouTube. Usui narrates the shamisen sound-tracked teaser. It features Zenitsu and Tanjirou preparing for a battle.

What is Demon Slayer All About? 

Set in Taisho-era Japan, the story deals with a young boy’s quest to save his sister. Tanjirou Kamado, a young and kind-hearted teen returns home to a dreadful sight. He finds that his entire family is killed in a demon invasion. Besides that, he encounters that his sister has turned into a blood-thirsty demon herself. Seeing these visuals, Tanjirou decides to become a demon slayer. He finds a way to restore her sister to her human form back again. Tanjirou starts learning from elite demon slayer Sakonji Urokodaki. He meets several other slayers who join him in his quest.

Zenitsu, cowardly yet skillful join him too. Hashibira, a short-tempered boy also accompanies Tanjirou. Soon, Tanjirou discovers the mastermind behind his family’s murder. It is Muzan Kibutsuji, the first demon king and the demon clan ancestor. Tanjirou discovers several things after his entry into the Slayer Corps. He learns about the Corps’ most elite slayer, Hashira. Besides that, he also learns about twelve Kizuki (blood moons). It is a strong organization under Muzan’s command. Henceforth, Demon Slayer season 2 will also relate to the story. Nezuko accompanies Tanjirou throughout his journey.

What is the Movie All About? 

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie” is the narrative’s spin-off. It is season 1’s existing storyline’s continuation. It was released in July 2020 and was a blockbuster. The film was Japan’s highest-grossing film ever. It left behind Spirited Away and Titanic as well. Moreover, it became the second-ever anime film to hit at the US box office. On the other hand, it was the first non-Hollywood movie to ever reign over the global box office. It was Japan’s best-animated feature film at the 93rd Academy Awards.

Undoubtedly, fans are awaiting Demon Slayer season 2 impatiently. Mugen Train picked up from where Season 1 left. It opened with Tanjirou, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Hashibira on the titular passenger train. They learn that the demon has vanished 40 people mysteriously from the train. Later, they discover that Enmu is behind the havoc on the train. Enmu is a low-ranked demon who manipulates sleep and dream. The demon slayers fall asleep under his spell. He then blackmails passengers in their dreams. Eventually, Tanjirou wins the battle against Enmu. The movie was a superhit worldwide.

Expected Plot for Demon Slayer Season 2 

Demon Slayer season 2 will probably pick up from where the Mugen train left. Titled ‘Yuukaku-hen’, the anime’s second season will tie up all loose threads. Firstly, We will see Tengen Uzui, the Hashira with special abilities in a major role. Most probably, the protagonists will travel with senior slayers to Yoshiwara. It is Japan’s famed red-light district. Secondly, They are on a mission to track down a demon who is terrorizing the area. However, not much is known regarding Demon Slayer season 2. So, fans will have to wait a little more for further disclosures.

Where to Watch the Series? 

Season 1 was broadcasted on over 20 local Japanese channels at 11:30 PM. We can expect the same for Demon Slayer season 2. Although, it is not yet officially confirmed. It is also not clear whether the show availability is the same for global fans. Season 1 was telecasted on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Funimation. Moreover, Netflix also streamed Demon Slayer season 1. Therefore, we don’t know if that is the case for season 2.
