Cyclone Tauktae has caused severe damage in India’s coastal regions. Maharashtra and Gujrat are amid the worst-hit states. The states are flooded with water everywhere. Several buildings, roads, rooftops, etc. are ruined in the cyclone. Many people have also gone missing. However, the authorities are trying their best to trace them. PM Narendra Modi conducted an ariel survey of Gujrat’s worst affected areas.
PM Modi and CM Vijay Rupani Conduct an Ariel Survey
Narendra Modi reached Bhavnagar to review the damage that Cyclone Tauktae has caused. Gujrat Cm Vijay Rupani greeted PM Modi at the airport. Besides Gujrat, Modi also surveyed Diu. He covered areas like Una, Jafarbad, and Mahuva. PM Modi will also hold a review meeting today in Ahmedabad. Both Modi and CM Vijay Rupani went on the ariel survey. They carefully examined the situation in various regions. Rupani also tweeted that they will soon survey Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir, and Somnath. Undoubtedly, cyclone Tauktae has caused severe damage in Gujrat.
Cyclone Tauktae Causes Severe Damage in Gujrat
PM Modi also visited Diu and surveyed the situation there as well. Cyclone Tauktae made landfall between Diu and Una on Monday night. Since then, the Gir-Somnath district is witnessing heavy rainfall. However, the situation was supposed to get normal today. Major property damage is reported from Gujrat. Trees have uprooted, buildings have fallen, etc. Moreover, thirteen people are reported dead. The cyclone thumped Gujrat and left behind severe damage. Over 16,000 houses are destroyed.
Maharashtra too Highly Affected by Cyclone Tauktae
Cyclone Tauktae has heavily wrecked Maharashtra too. Many celebrities reported their personal damage. Amitabh Bachchan’s office is all destroyed due to the cyclone. Rakhi Sawant reported that her balcony fell off. Houses alongside coastal areas are all swept. Some people are even missing. Navy officers are trying their best to find them. Several regions faced extreme power outrage during the cyclonic period.
PM Modi to Hold a Review Meeting
Cyclone Tauktae is now weakened. However, its destruction will forever sustain in everyone’s mind. It now lays centered over South Rajasthan on Wednesday morning. The cyclone brought 100mm to 150mm downpour in several regions. PM Modi will review the situation and then come to a conclusion. We can expect him to announce certain relief packages for the affected individuals.
