COVID-19 origin is a global concern. Not knowing the origin, can put the world at risk for future outbursts. Various theories are built up regarding its origin. But none of them is specified. Experts have warned that not knowing the reason is a big threat for the future.
COVID-19 Origin Theories
Nothing is precise regarding COVID-19 origin. Since the pandemic began, scientists around the globe are trying to find its origination. But they didn’t come to a conclusion. Some suggest that COVID-19 is a natural phenomenon. It was first detected in China’s Wuhan province. Reportedly, it was spread to humans through bats. On the other hand, some say that COVID-19 is lab-generated. It was developed in a laboratory in Wuhan. The virus was leaked by mistake from the lab. Another theory is the biological war theory. Some people also believe that China on purpose developed COVID-19. They have started a bio-war. However, all these are just theories and nothing is confirmed.
Find the Origin, Or Face Another Pandemic
Two leading U.S. experts suggested that it is important to trace COVID-19 origin. Or else, we will have to face more such pandemics in the future. The lab-leak theory is gaining recognition now. Scott Gottlieb, an FDA commissioner during the Trump administration, supported it. Gottlieb now sits on the Pfizer Inc. board. China has not given any proof that COVID-19 did not leak in its lab.
Whilst, signs that COVID-19 emerged from wildlife isn’t proven yet. Not knowing how the pandemic started; puts the world at risk. We can experience more such outbreaks in the future. And obviously, we don’t want to. Peter Hotez, a health expert, also supported the investigation. He said that if we don’t find this virus’s origin; have to get ready to witness COVID-26 & COVID-32.
What is the Administration Doing?
President Joe Biden has renewed the investigation for COVID-19 origin on Wednesday. He has ordered the agencies to redouble the efforts. It is very important to know whether COVID-19 happened naturally. Or did it escape from a laboratory in Wuhan? Biden has asked the agencies to report again in 90 days. Henceforth, scientists will conduct a long-term investigation in China. They will collect various human and animal samples for testing. China has disputed the lab-leak theory. Moreover, they have called it an attempt to engage in stigmatization. According to them, it is political manipulation and blame-shifting.
