Recently, after the connotation of COVID19 vaccines coming to India, it is probably evident now. In Gujarat, over 750 volunteers appeared before the health workers to take up their Covaxin first dose for the third phase. The throng was seen on Sunday at a city hospital. Most importantly, it seems that none of the recently vaccinated people met any side effects so far. As of now, the coronavirus count in Gujarat, with more than two lakh confirmed cases, with two lakh recovered cases. Plus over a thousand deceased cases.
Bharat Biotech-ICMR’s Covaxin vaccines for the third phase trial:
Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research-National Institute of Virology are currently developing Covaxin. Indeed, BBV152 aka Covaxin is an inactivated virus-based COVID19 vaccine. Also, it has been put on notice that the third phase trials of the Covaxin vaccines are being tested at Sola Civil Hospital, Gujarat.
Currently, Bharat Biotech has been put in charge of the third phase. So far, reached 26,000 volunteers in over 25 centers across India. Especially, over 1000 volunteers were spotted on 27th December 2020 at Sola Civil Hospital in Gujarat.
The head of the Sola Civil Hospital, Doctor Kiran Rami claimed that;” Over 750 volunteers, including around 50 health workers like doctors, nursing staff, paramedics; have been administered the first dose of Covaxin since its phase 3 trial began on November 25th, 2020. None of the volunteers have experienced any kind of side effects so far”. Furthermore, he concluded his statement by saying that “A total thousand volunteers will be administered the vaccine by the end of this month. We have also begun giving the second booster dose to the volunteers who have completed 28 days of the first dose; we have covered fifteen volunteers so far”.
The hospital is in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. One of the primary hospitals chosen for phase 3 human trials of the Covaxin vaccine. And so far, executed with over a thousand volunteers.
What are the steps you need to undertake concerning the Covaxin vaccine?
The first dose of the vaccine will be given after the RT-PCR test. Subsequently, for the next ten months, volunteers are supposed to undergo them.
No additional tests are included for the second dose. In the meantime, those who have succeeded in the 28 days without side effects will be called forthwith to the hospital for the second dose.
For proper function, the doctor said that each volunteer will be given a diary to note their scheduled date.
