Jeff Bezos’ space company Blue Origin is all set to establish an orbital reef in space for future business opportunities. The billionaire is planning to build a commercial space station with Boeing.
However, the company hasn’t revealed many details about the project now but they are planning to launch the spacecraft in the second half of this decade. The space company unleashed its future projects in a press conference on Monday. Jeff Bezos is partnering with Sierra Space, the spaceflight wing of defense contractor Sierra Nevada Corp for this project. Besides that, Redwire Space, Genesis Engineering Solutions, and Arizona State University is backing this project.
What is Orbital Reef?
According to Blue Origin, the company is planning to set up a space station in the frontiers of the cosmos. This is known as “orbital reef”. Moreover, the officials have stated that they will build this business park in the second half of the decade, that is, after 2025.
