Netflix’s Black Mirror has become a massive phenomenon. Critics and audiences have enjoyed its dark and satirical take on the way technology influences the world. Fans are eagerly awaiting Black Mirror Season 6. After five mind blowing seasons and two groundbreaking specials, fans are eagerly waiting for the latest stories in the anthology series.
But fans may have to wait for some time for Black Mirror Season 6 to arrive. In an interview with Radio Times, creator Charlie Brooker said that he doesn’t think the world is prepared for a new season of Black Mirror. He said, “At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those.” He also said that he is working on more comedic projects at the time. He is also scheduled to appear in a new BBC special soon.
Some fans have also compared the year 2020 to a Black Mirror episode.
Creator Charlie Brooker and producer Annabel Jones took off from the production banner House of Tomorrow. Since then, Banijay Group took over Endemol Shine and now owns the rights to Black Mirror. Brooker and Jones started a new Netflix-backed company called Broke and Bones. A Variety report states that Black Mirror’s intellectual rights are at a center-stage. It also stated that Brooker and Jones won’t be able to produce any Black Mirror Season 6 episodes until there are more agreements. Fans will be disappointed by Brooker’s departure as his visions and writings were considered the show’s key elements.
