Besides that, the government has also decided to administer the jab; to all those who are organizing the games. The government is also going to inoculate all those above 18 with the booster jab who have received both the primary doses of a Covid vaccine.
Beijing Rolls Out COVID-19 Booster Jab
The Chinese government is rolling out the COVID-19 booster shot in Beijing; ahead of the Winter Olympics. All those who are participating in the games or organizing it are to receive the third jab.
Moreover, all those above 18 are eligible for the booster shot; who have received both the primary doses of the Covid vaccine. Besides that, the government will also vaccinate people at high risk with the booster shot. Just four months are left before the Winter Olympics. Henceforth, the authorities in China have decided to come up with this master plan so that people in the country are safe from the deadly virus.
Who is Eligible?

Besides that, the members of the organizing committee are also eligible for the third jab. The booster shot is also open for all those who are above 18; have received both the primary doses of a Covid vaccine. Moreover, the government has also decided to vaccinate; the country’s vulnerable population with the third jab.
The Winter Olympics
Just four months are left for the Winter Olympics. The games are scheduled to take place in Beijing from February 4, 2022. However, only Chinese residents are allowed to see the games. All the players will have to go through a mandatory three-week quarantine; before the commencement of the games. Besides that, quarantine is mandatory for all international athletes, regardless of their vaccination status. The country will only consider the WHO-approved vaccines for the players. Moreover, the authorities will release a virus detailing countermeasures very soon.
COVID-19 Situation in Beijing and Surrounding Regions
So far, Beijing has administered both doses to 97 percent of its population. The Chinese capital, along with all other regions of the country; is aiming for a Zero Covid world. Henceforth, the authorities have implemented strict border restrictions; and COVID-19 protocols throughout the country. China has reported 96,665 COVID-19 infections so far with 4,636 deaths. The country reported 43 new cases on Thursday out of which 28 were locally transmitted.
