On Saturday, Home Minister Amit Shah had a meeting with the state party members and BJP leaders at a private hotel in Chennai. This was a few hours after the ruling party AIADMK’s announcement that their alliance with BJP will continue for the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections. In the meeting, Mr. Shah urged everyone to work hard to make it certain that BJP holds the power in Tamil Nadu in the next five years.
On Saturday, Tamil Nadu’s ruling party AIADMK announced that their alliance with BJP would continue for the 2021 Assembly Elections. AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and co-coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami announced the decision at a function in presence of Home Minister Amit Shah.
Mr. Shah also applauded Palaniswami for the good governance that they have provided the state. He also made it certain that the Modi Government would stand by the AIADMK Government “like a rock”.
Mr. Shah attended an official engagement at Kalaivar Arangam on Saturday evening. The meeting began soon after at a private hotel in Chennai and continued past 11 PM. According to sources, the Home Minister talked about their presence in states like Tripura and Bihar. He stated how the party didn’t have enough strength in the past and now are the ruling parties in both states. He mentioned that the party did it either on their own or through a coalition agreement.
Amit Shah plans to recreate their success in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and other states
The source confirmed that Home Minister Amit Shah was certain that the party can recreate the same success in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu in the next 2021 Assembly Elections. He said that to achieve that success, the party members need to show enthusiasm and be resolute about their work and put their best efforts to toughen the organization. He also said that he is expecting the same success in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Some leaders were also disappointed with the AIADMK alliance and expressed their concerns. Mr. Shah assured them that the party high-command will oversee it and asked them to work on strengthening the party.
As per the sources, he said, “You strengthen the party organization and booth committees.”
Vanathi Sriniavan said to the press that there would be a “coalition government” after the polls in Tamil Nadu. Sriniavan is the national president of BJP Women’s Wing. She also asserted that BJP would be a part of the government.
Party leader, K.T. Raghavan said that Mr. Shah provided several inputs in the meeting. These included various ways party cadres could function for enhancing and strengthening the BJP organization and its functioning.
