All India Express, an Air India wing on Friday operated India’s first international flight with a fully vaccinated crew against COVID-19. The flight took off from Delhi and landed in Dubai. As the vaccination drive in India is accelerating, more and more airlines are certifying that their crew is vaccinated. This will also encourage other sectors to vaccinate their employees as soon as possible. Recently, Vistara also operated a fully vaccinated crew flight between Delhi and Mumbai. Besides these two airlines, no other flight has operated with a fully vaccinated crew.
What did the Airlines Say About their Accomplishment?
The flight, IX 191, took off with a fully vaccinated crew against COVID-19 took off from Delhi at 10:40 AM. All India Express is India’s leading budget flight. It announced about the fully vaccinated crew on its Twitter handle. The company wrote that they are ensuring a safe environment onboard. Besides that, they also informed that the crew of IX 191/196, Delhi-Dubai-Jaipur-Delhi, have taken both the vaccine doses. They are very proud to become India’s first flight with a fully vaccinated crew.
Who was on the All India Express Flight Onboard?
The All India Express flight took off with Captain DR Gupta and Captain Alok Kumar as the pilots. Moreover, the crew included the following people:
- Venkat Kella
- Praveen Chandra
- Pravin Chougle
- Manisha Kamble
The same operated the return flight as well. Moreover, the company claims that they have vaccinated all the eligible staff members and frontline workers as well.
The Vande Bharat Mission
As we are praising All India Express for its fully vaccinated crew; we must not forget that it was the same flight that operated India’s first-ever Vande-Bharat Mission (VBM). It carried seven passengers from Abu Dhabi to India on May 7. The airline said that they are quite happy with the accomplishment. Their team is now protected and shielded from COVID-19.
